Speech on Women Empowerment!!

 WOMEN EMPOWERMENT!💪

I come from the land of the great educator Savitribai Phule, who opened the gates of knowledge and paved the path to Anandibai Joshi the first woman doctor of India. Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi fought for the freedom of our country. The voice of Lata Mangeshkar made her immortal in the world. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Indira Indra Nooyi are shining like the stars as entrepreneurs.

A very fanetic evening to one and all. This is Siddhi Patil from Patan Valley English Medium School, Patan , Maharashtra. Today, I will be speaking on the topic “DAUGHTER: Country’s Pride: Every homes’ Honor”. Now when I look at this topic I peep into the past history of Indian daughters and the great work done by them. The daughters are the pride of the nation and honor of every house. When I look around me I come across the contribution of daughters of India in all the walks of life. Year after year strong, intelligent, determined women from across India make their mark around the world in innumerable fields from scientific research to the cricket pitch and their stellar achievements bring honor to our country. Let us recollect the name of courageous freedom fighter Aruna Asaf Ali, who hosted the Indian National flag at the Gowalia Tank Maidan Bombay during the Quit India Movement 1942. Sarojini Naidu was the pluckiest freedom fighter with Gandhiji. When we get back to our history textbooks how can we miss the work of Jijabai who championed the cause of the Swaraj from the Mughal rulers and helped Shivaji unite the Maratha factions and establish the Hindu Swaraj. It was Kalpana Chawla who played a key role in boosting the name of India in the field of astronomy. Even the younger generation is trying to create history in the field of sports, literature, technology, music and many more and I'm sure if we start counting their numbers we will run out of space.

With this I would like to state that the only thing that the youth of India can do is to empower women. How can we do this? We can do this by taking active participation and understanding what our responsibilities, our duties towards our country ,our nation, our people are the day we realize our responsibilities the day we start working hard the face of our nation will change .Now let's do this. Let's do what India was born to do to build love, to build respect and to generate peace. I would like to end my seat with the quote यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवताः। . This Sanskrit shlok denotes that Gods prefer to live where the women are worshiped and honored.

Thank you.
